Our client is looking for a bi-lingual Technical Support Engineer with fluency in Mandarin and English to join their

international team across the UK, China and USA.

This role involves diagnosing and resolving wiring issues for controllers of diesel and gas generator sets using circuit

diagrams and performing PLC programming with SCADA software.

Additionally, it requires proficiency in industrial communication protocols, cable preparation, Python development in a

Linux environment, and coordinating with suppliers for technical support and documentation.

Responsibilities

Circuit Diagram Interpretation and Wiring:

Interpreting various circuit diagrams.
Identifying and troubleshooting wiring issues for controllers (e.g., Deep Sea Electronics, ComAp) using a multimeter.
Proficient in performing wiring operations based on circuit diagrams.
PLC programming and using SCADA software for these controllers.

Industrial Communication Protocols:

Prepare cables using a wire stripper and use communication software like Modbus Poll and CANTest.
Coordinating with suppliers for technical support and ensuring timely task completion.
Providing alternative solutions for complex technical issues.
Writing technical documentation during the R&D process.

Python Development in Linux Environment:

Developing with Python on Ubuntu Linux.
Transition control screens from Android to a more stable Linux (Ubuntu) environment.
Use tools like PyCharm for coding, and Putty and WinSCP for file transfer and remote connection.
Maintained technical documentation to facilitate the tracking of development progress.

Technical Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering (Undergrad or Post-grad)
Fluency in Mandarin (Chinese) and English language both oral and written
